NASAE SUMMER UPDATE
Cheryl L. Zimmerman – 2009-10- NASAE President
How quickly the summer is going and it seems like it just began. The summer has been filled with state conventions, officer trainings, ag teacher conferences and many other events. Now it is time to turn our attention to the Fall season and soon schools will be back in session and then we will be traveling to Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention and the NASAE Annual Meeting.
Please plan to attend. One of the most positive comments that we received in our survey after last year's NASAE conference was the answer to the following question...Why do you belong to NASAE and why do you attend the NASAE annual meeting? The common response....to share ideas with other people and come together to address issues in Agricultural Education and help each other build stronger programs back home. And this includes all components of Agricultural Education from the classroom to FFA to experiential learning. We need all of state staff to come together to strengthen the entire program of Agricultural Education.
As always, the NASAE Conference will include an opportunity for agricultural education leadership from across the country to come together and focus on the current issues that impact the future of agricultural education. This meeting is an excellent opportunity to exchange best practice ideas so that together we can support quality programs for our students and the agricultural industry nationwide.
We are excited for another opportunity to bring our NASAE members together again this Fall. Please plan to attend our annual conference.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION
Attached are the registration materials for this year’s NASAE conference. The conference is October 18-20, 2010. The agenda is beginning to take shape and the NASAE Executive Committee will be meeting by conference call this week to put together some more of our ideas. This year again we are collaborating with AAAE for a number of our presentations, we are also adding some specific sessions for Executive Secretaries and Directors and we will be honoring our retiring National FFA Advisor Dr. Larry Case. There is still a lot of planning to be done, but we want to address current issues concerning Agricultural Education and come together as an organization to share our ideas and strategies to continue to build Agricultural Education in our states. Stay tuned as more information will be shared as the agenda is finalized.
NASAE MEMBERSHIP
Attached is a membership form for 2010-2011. Our membership year is July 1 – June 30 so it is time to begin our annual membership drive. Again our goal is 100% membership in each of our states. Why be an NASAE? Together we need to be a unified voice to support Agricultural Education nationwide - no matter what your role - if you work in any way supporting the opportunities in Agricultural Education, you can be a member of NASAE.
